  2. A terrorist is someone who targets civilians in order to put fear into a population over political or religious ideas. Those Republicans who shot people this year did exactly that, thus they are terrorists. Just like the people blowing up buildings in Ireland and Northern Ireland. "who hate Americans" It's not just people who hate Americans who kill. Plenty of people who hate liberals, minorities, people of other religions, etc. have committed terrorist acts. Most of them white Christians.
