  1. Actually atheists make up 34% of American scientists, not 85%. They make up 73% of the NAS which is only made up of like 200 or so scientists. Anyways, many nonreligious people convert to a religion in jail and self-declared atheists only make up about 3-6% of the general non-prison population. Also, "good people" do evil things all the time without religion. No religion was needed to get people to go along with the Soviets, the Iraq War, Stop & Frisk, etc. Who says these are all "good people" going along anyway?
