The problem is Obama isn't actually doing this. So far no real regulations have come for the banks, corporate America, lenders, etc. The bailout was a rehash of Buah's bailouts. It was welfare for corporate America in the hopes it would stimulate job growth and higher wages (basic trickle-down Reaganomics). Same with the stimulus for a large part which was Bush's stimulus checks for businesses instead of consumers. So far this is just standard Neoliberal same-ol same-ol.

Yeah, even people who keep soft-balling it for President Obama should at least agree that he's been a disappointment and isn't being nearly forceful enough. My theory is that he's bought and paid for but those who disagree at least have to admit that he need to grow a pair. I really think it's time for third, fourth, fifth, etc. parties. We need to join the rest of the industrialized world and have a Progressive, Labor or Social Democrat party. We're long overdue.

Not to mention we're gearing up to do in Afghanistan what Bush did in Iraq. That's going to be another $1.5 Trillion increase in spending on bloated military budgets for no real justifiable cause. It's the Republican "War on Terra" applied to a different region with slightly different tactics. I had hoped Obama would at least deliver on the public option but all reports indicate he'll sign anything. Even with no public option. If he doesn't shape up we should run a REAL progressive in 2012.

I don't think people are being "impatient" I think progressives are getting tired of Obama continuing Bush policies and dropping what few progressive reforms he had planned. From all reliable news Obama will sign any piece of crap "healthcare bill" the put on his desk. Even if it has NO public option. This is a fundamental separation of DLC Democrats vs. Progressives. People who are loyal to parties and political personalities vs. those who are loyal to principles.

Uhhhh.....I guess so. I guess standard Neoliberal crap isn't quite as bad as Neoconservatism (Neoliberalism on steroids with an unbearable social reactionary, militarist, nationalist and religious dickwad twist). Still, I'd much rather have a Progressive in office and I think as long as we keep settling for Republican-lite things will keep getting worse. Democrats keep moving further to the right. They're now where Republicans were in the 90s.
