@jeffreylinde4381 That is because there are 2 kinds of chargers. Level 1 chargers is max $500 and level 2 chargers is about $2500 with installation.

@leftylou6070 They still need to be connected to something in order to charge. You can get cheap lvl 1 chargers(usually comes with the EV) and just plug it in but it will go slow. Well it will usually take overnight or while you are at work to charge the EV. 8 hours or so depending on the size of the battery.

@damovandG You really should not write about things you obviously dont know anything about. Even with coal powered plants the EVs will still emit less CO2 in their lifespan than regular internal combustion cars. Also dont confuse Climate Change with environment.

More like $2k for a level 2 charger..

And then you can drive for roughly 4 cents per mile... That is roughly $500 saved per year in fuel cost.

Guaranteed most Fox viewers will still be ignorant and gullible in 2024.

Wrong, they are dropping home owners where floods are a common occurrence.

What do you think a "mandate on all new homes" is? Do you think it is optional?
1
That really depends on what level charger you want. A lot of EVs comes with a level 1 charger but level 2 chargers cost between $1k - $2.5k. Level 3 chargers are for the rich or for commercial use but they will charge your EV pretty fast. Then there is actually also lvl 4 chargers but those are insanely fast and insanely expensiive for homeowners. A level 4 1.5MW charger can charge roughly 100 miles per minute.

Obviously you have no clue about the prices of EV chargers, so maybe you should not comment on that. Unless you are going for the ultra fast commercial level 3 chargers then a charger should cost between $500 - $2500.
