I am sorry to inform you but you really do not know what you are talking about. During the Trump administration the "break-even" (production vs consumption and imports vs exports) was attained. Since then it has just been better and better. Energy independence have been there since 2019.

How important is it to actually know what you are talking about? "Energy independence" was reached in 2019, meaning consumption + imports vs production + exports broke even. Since then it has only become better and better, meaning the America is much more "energy independent" today than in 2019.
