Isnt that the same with gasoline/diesel cars? Actually not really as gasoline/diesel cars can also explode, which EVs dont do.

"Safety problems (meaning can you get out of the car when an accident occurs)" How is this a problem with EVs? "temperature is well under -10° to -50° F." How often does this happen in large regions?

A strange number I think. Do you mean stations or charging ports? Most EV owners have their own private charging ports, so they do not need to use public charging stations.

@mongo64071 Ethanol is just as bad as fossil fuels in terms of CO2 emissions.

@mertletheturtle8283 Yeah I probably would not put a nuclear reactor inside a car unless you were trying to recreate The DeLorean.

Can you name one of these "fuel efficient ICE that get 30-40 mpg" that most Americans would use?
1
@dzcav3 I would not say that the Toyota Corolla is a car that most Americans would use, would you? It is not even in the top 10 most sold cars in the country in 2023 and Tesla Model Y is number 5 on that list.

A lot of what you wrote is wrong but I guess you already know that.

They stop when people dont charge them, just like a gasoline car will also stop if you do not put gasoline in it.

The fossil fuel lobby has a strong hold on many right wing politicians and media.
1
"With their limited range and abilities and their fairly high prices" What? I do get that for a very small percentage of people EVs is a bad option but for the vast majority it is a good option.
1
People are promoting and using EVs because of much less CO2 emissions. If that "synthetic fuel" produce no CO2 emissions then GREAT, no need for EVs.
1
@mongo64071 Fossil fuels dont work and that is the problem. Find a better alternative to EVs that does not emit CO2 in such quantities then it would be fine.
1
@mongo64071 Hydrogen is a clean fuel in terms of CO2 emissions, so hydrogen as fuel would be great. The thing is that there are several problems with containing the hydrogen and burning it. When those problems have been solved then we can all switch to hydrogen cars. You dont need nuclear power to make hydrogen. Renewable energy can be used just as easily.

@dzcav3 Since my last comment I have learned that gasoline/diesel vehicles rarely explode, which EVs also very rarely explode. Gasoline/diesel vehicles catch fire about 20 times more often than EVs. As far as I know gasoline cars burn faster than EV fires. EV fires does burn fiercely for a long time and can reignite even after days. The bottom line is that EVs are not more dangerous than gasoline/diesel cars.

Get cars to produce much much less CO2 emissions and then we can talk.

There is a thing called Climate Change which is something pretty bad.

Said the ignorant fool...

I believe the former President have also promised flying cars recently...

And you completely ignore the damage fracking, drilling and transporting does?
