The statistics show that regular gasoline/diesel cars are much more likely to catch on fire than EVs but I constantly see people repeating the false claims of the fossil fuel industry.

@anitakristensen4679 Can EVs catch fire? Yes ofc they can but it is more rare than with gasoline vehicles. A quick example: "Tesla, which makes more than half of the electric vehicles sold in the U.S., reports five car fires per billion miles driven, compared with 55 fires per billion miles driven in gasoline-powered cars." The thing is that you dont really hear much about the more than 200 thousand fires that happens in gasoline vehicles each year in the US.

@anitakristensen4679 I didnt say any such thing. I am merely pointing out the fact that gasoline vehicles catch fire much more often than EVs. The EVs you are talking about was because of salt water flooding the batteries in the areas of the hurricanes.

@anitakristensen4679 It seems you dont really understand what I am writing. Yes, EVs can catch fire BUT it happens rarely compared to gasoline vehicles.
