EEEkkkk. Let's make it unanimous. I ,too, think Thom is wrong. Even though I'm an ex-smoker of 26 years, I still believe tobacco should be sold to those that want it without overtaxing the product itself and the stores that sell them. Thom, you said yourself you used to smoke and now you don't like me but that doesn't mean the rules should change regarding the sales of these products. Everybody needs a job but if you're thinking like that sellers of tobacco are killing people then why not throw sellers of alcohol in the mix too? Where does it end? It still doesn't matter as people are still dying of cancer in record numbers. I think of it like this.. No one knows what causes cancer to this very day so can we at least be on the same page and just say that living causes cancer? If you think about it, our whole planet is toxic. My mother never drank or smoked yet she died from Multiple Myeloma, a bone marrow and blood cancer disease. On the opposite side of the spectrum we have George Burns who smoked cigars his whole life but didn't die from cancer but rather a fall in the bathtub at the ripe old age of 100. You're wrong on this one Thom. Dead wrong. When you were a smoker, you took full advantage of low taxes on tobacco products just like myself and now you're a hypocrite about cigarettes today just because you quit. You and I both know that back then when we smoked that it was bad for us. That vision has never changed about tobacco, only the taxes.
