@johnfarmyguy1 if you make a decent wage as a man, which is enough to pay off a mortgage, save for retirement, buy food etc, and have some fun hobbies, maybe travel a couple weeks a year, you dont need to go and work more hours or try to move up the corporate ladder. there is no advantage to doing so, you will just have less free time to do the things you want to do. strong and independent women can go pursue their careers and work 60 hours a week. im not going to. enjoy. this doesnt stem from a lack of motivation, its an honest assesment of the work-life balance that you want to have.

@mpforeverunlimited in western europe, 45K dollars = 40K euro which is barely above average wage of 36K. you will never be able to buy a house here and you wont be able to rent anything except a small studio because you legally arent allowed to rent anything that costs more than 1/3 of your gross wages. so your rent budget is 1000 euro per month. in the netherlands where i live you literally wont be able to rent anything without government assistance which you wont get as a foreigner. dont come to western europe if youre making less than 80K USD
