  2. "innate fears of common, uneducated people" . : And you seem to think these "uneducated" people couldn't also be made to sympathize with the Nazis being ganged up on in debates or that they all would have been convinced by the good idea of "Hey lets not blame Jews" in time as if that couldn't be an option they just reject. Thats the core issue with viewing debates as the solution here. They are not a test of right or wrong answers like a quiz bowl, its a showdown of who is better at convincing an audience/judge. Good ideas can be rejected by not being convinced by them. Bad ideas can be convincing, accepted and implemented just like they are in US election debates which follows the "let the audience decide" formula so in this case why take the gamble when actual verifiable mass murder is the other outcome? Plus what happens after however many debates? We just keep debating forever? Laws banning Nazism? Because if not Nazis could still in/out of debates, as well as before being banned if you agree it would be outlawed, convince enough to attain power so why not skip the debate step and go straight to the "No, we are not a genocidal society and aren't tolerating you all trying to murder millions " ban ? "Whatever made you think that I thought the right were winning debates?" : I didn't but you were too busy being needlessly condescending to comprehend what I typed. Your goal is to win the debate with good ideas. The extreme Right though doesn't view being DESTROYED by FACTS and LOGIC as winning (though I can see why many think they do), they view winning as being heard and normalized as an tolerated option. Thats why Neo-Nazis and the like have their dapper looking members push debates and civility politics too just like Liberals to show their racial superiority instead of pushing physical altercations that Leftists are willing to engage in. They also have backup tactics like playing the victim when proven false. They can win some people over in the former even when outdone but if "Punch/Kill a Nazi" is acceptable societies would be violently rejecting them every day and they don't want that with their small numbers. Now in the US with all the guns and infiltration of cops this can backfire literally so I'm just explaining why debates are conveniently the method they support. So you don't need to give people who are exposing ideas that have already been shown to be horrific and defeated a platform equal to your own to reaffirm they are bad. Social norms and or laws can do that far more effectively and are the end goal anyways.
