Return of the hostages is the key.
I don't think people understand what a huge piece of the puzzle this is.
Israel is going in so hard because of the pressure to get the hostages back from within, and because the worry for the hostages is making people think of them first and not much else after that (not that I support that)
If it is not understood what a huge part the return of the hostages is to a chance of de-escalation, then communication will be blocked.
They might only be 239 people to you.
But to Israel, they are the reason to fight, and fight hard.
It is critical to bring them back, or Israel will keep on going (and I think it is going nuts because of the trauma, which is getting worse with the worry for the hostages)
It really needs to stop.
Return the hostages.
It will allow the release of the siege faster because Israel won't have to worry about hostages being smuggled out.
It is also very important to make it clear to the people in Gaza they will not be displaced, they need to be able to go home.
And clearly they will need help to rebuild, or it will be horrid.
There has been barely any international pressure to return the hostages. It is like they don't matter.
And they are such a huge key in getting Israel to cooperate.
Once they are back, siege can open without worry they will be smuggled out, and a pause in fire will be available, and allow to replace netanyahu, which will allow a more sensible leader (I hope)
The hostages have to come back.
It is the key.
What would you do if someone took your family?
How sane would you be?
