@CarlWheatley-wi2cl Tell us what you think it means - because the top lawyer of the International Criminal Court just spoke in Egypt about this situation and clearly stated that it is against international law to bomb hospitals, and that Israel is NOT ADHERING to the Principle of Proportionality that is a rule of warfare in international law.

@idangangann The invasion of Palestine in the 1940's, and the continuous trampling on human rights of Palestinians by Israelis is the problem. This didn't start on the 7th Oct. 2023. To pretend it did is to assume that Palestinians don't have human rights.

@kirkpatrick7475 There was never a country called Israel either. Furthermore, there was never a country called the United States of America, either, until relatively recently.
13
@kirkpatrick7475 According to the Genocide Convention, which both Israel and the USA signed, "no State or individual shall be permitted to justify genocide in the name of self-defence." International law is clear cut about it.
12
@kirkpatrick7475 Times have changed. Those horrors of war is why international law on war crimes and genocide were developed. Whether YOU think so, or Israel thinks so, or not, is irrelevant to the Law.
11
@kirkpatrick7475 International law applies equally to everyone, and being the recipient of a war crime doesn't give anyone the excuse to commit another war crime.

@ryanSLF Are you trying to make a point that a country has to have existed since before Roman times to be a valid country? By that logic the United States has no valid claim to existence. Your point is ridiculous.
10
@gopinathkumar There is no bright side to this situation. It is inhumane and actually a sign of psychopathy to suggest there is.

@kirkpatrick7475 Also, let's not get into the complicated "existence" of England, Wales, Scotland, the UK, Great Britain, or Ireland! Let alone whether Germany ever existed.

@ryanSLF The DNA of Jews and Palestinians is the same. They are the same people. Genetic sequencing has proven that repeatedly. Some of the people who were called "Jews" in those distant times later converted to Islam during the Ottoman Empire, and stayed there in that land all along, whereas others left and went to other countries and kept following Judaism. Therefor, the people who you say "never existed" were there all along, but were just called different names - and that does not invalidate them as people who have lived there for hundreds of generations - as opposed to the Jews who left and then blew back in and wanted to say it was all theirs, despite having left centuries ago. Your logic is weak.

@kirkpatrick7475 Who am I, then? And what is my agenda?
7
@paulbilling685 Hamas isn't "hiding behind their children." It is just that Israel has forced 6.8 million Palestinians(the same number as there are Israelis) to live on 3% of the land, while they take the other 97% for themselves. So everyone is living on top of each other in Gaza. It is impossible for Hamas not to be surrounded by Palestinian children - and that is ISRAEL's FAULT.

@gorkasillero Actually, numerous genome profiling proved that the Israelis and Palestinians have the same DNA profile - they are the same people, in fact. It's just that not all of those who were in that area originally were actually followers of Judaism. And many of those who were actually converted to Islam during the 400 year reign of the Ottoman Empire. Israelis are delusional to think that they could leave, live in Europe for 400 years, and then come back and say all the land is theirs, and kick out the people who remained there on the land all along!
4
@MikeGreenwood51 That is not International Law. International law states that "no State or individual shall be permitted to justify genocide in the name of self-defence."

@ledzebulon6235 The State of Israel didn't exist then. There were a few tribes, of various names, one among which later called itself the Israelites. Change YOUR history books. There was an ancient civilisation there - but it wasn't called Israel, and it didn't cover all the same territory that the State of Israel falsely lays claim to. You need some real archaeology books - not Israeli propaganda.
2
@kirkpatrick7475 What you don't seem to comprehend is that Egypt went to war with a tribe, not a State, and that tribe did not cover the area that the State of Israel now claims. Furthermore, when the Ottoman Empire ruled in the region for over 400 years up into the 20th century, many of the original Jews of the region converted to Islam and stayed there. Others left. But those that stayed there all along are the Palestinians that the Israelis are stealing the land from - even though most of those "Israelis" had left over the centuries and moved to Europe. Then they decided they wanted to go back! But they have no right to steal it from the people who stayed there all along. If you argue that the ancient Jews that left 400 years ago still own the land all this time later, then you must also believe that Native Americans can lay claim to all of the USA, and that France can lay claim to the UK, and that Aborigines can legally lay claim to Australians and drive them out of their cities and homes. Your entire argument is ridiculous.

baddad2955 Israel is killing 100's of civilians every day.
1
@kirkpatrick7475 No, you have quoted from Israeli stories, and from one Stele. The existence of 12 tribes doesn't a State make, just wandering sheep herders. But the CRUX of what makes your entire argument fall down flat is that it rests on the assertion that to be a "real" State the group must have existed on a land thousands of years ago, and that, even if they left for 400 years (during the Ottoman Empires, say) that ancient claim overrides everything that has happened on the land since. That is clearly false, or the USA is not legitimate, and neither is Australia.
