No angry fans and plenty of trolls.  A fan understands that this does not fly for free and appreciates that they are coming to us instead of the standard way of raising the same money that is getting someone to invest.  They are now beholden to us their subscribers and supporters and not the clowns with the deepest pockets who own the entire industry.  This kind of money is raised every day with the stroke of a pen and that TYT decided to go this route speaks to their integrity and the kind of show they want to produce.  To anyone who is an actual fan who is mad about this campaign you are at a 7 and you should be at a 1, to the trolls we know who you are and do not not give a fuck what you post.

  2. Jiqs CS Then don't pay.  Is it guilt or what that is bugging you?  No one expects someone who is not interested to contribute. Bitching about something you are not going to do anyway seems a waste of time.

I love their political stuff but the mix in of fluff has always been part of their focus.  The only way we will see them to continue to flourish and give us more of the content we are looking for is if they serve us and not some billionaire with money to blow spreading his spin.  If the show is not for you then by all means do not donate.  But those who are complaining that they should not even be asking do not understand if they do it any other way they will not be TYT anymore like them of not.

It seems we agree on what is most appealing about the show.  The fact is the only way any of it is put to air is under the scenario where we sponsor them instead of some random corporate interest.   I understand your and sympathize with your concerns but that does not mean this path is not the only one where we have a chance of seeing the content we both appear to appreciate.

  5. PristineSneakers I am not in charge of their content nor do I think it all has value.  I put my support behind them because what I do appreciate does have the value that justifies it. I understand your concerns but for me they are mitigated by the fact I see enough value in the daily production to warrant my donation.  That is not the way everyone will feel but we are not talking about anyone but each individual making that choice.  The best way to change any thing is to belong to it and be part of the voice that drives it.  In the case of media this is the only way you will ever have the option to do that even if your individual voice is small.  I do not demonize people for not wanting to contribute but to the haters who hack on anyone who does or that TYT is even asking I see them as willfully missing the point.

  6. So don't contribute.  They raise it this way or they raise it from some rich clown and then are in his back pocket.  Even if you do not contribute you should be happy they took this path instead of the other because now you know who TYT works for.

Jiqs CS They call it news, I am sure they have a channel that talks about kittens and rainbows but know these events are not TYT's responsibility and they tell us about them because we tune in.  If you are not interested perhaps you should find a Chanel that better suits your idea of how money should be made.
