+dwilldarren0406 By definition corporations have no soul.

+darthmorbous Make it so.

+g13iceman His answer is to tax corporations on their profits instead of letting them buy our leaders and pass them onto us. That our leaders are bought is the main problem and that is what he really rails against.

+Redridge07 No they can not. They have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize profit and that is a corporations job. If as an individual you choose patriotism over profit you will be excised from the organization as a problem. As has been shown by history if there is a corporate choice between america and profits, profits have consistently won.

Redridge07 If it is a choice between profit and patriotism it is safe bet which will win or they will be bought by a less "patriotic" competitor who makes more profit and then they will move out. The point is counting on the patriotism of a entity designed to maximize profit is a bad thing to base policy on.

Redridge07 It does not matter how patriotic the people behind a corporation are if it is bought up by another that cares about profit more. Profit is what drives shareholders, investment, stock price as well as the bonus's the executives collect. Expecting patriotism from a legal construct whose only reason for existing is to make profit for investors is foolish.

+Aivaras Abromaitis I do not trust people who discount the idea.

+Shutruk Nahhunte These profits being foreign is a fiction. That is why they are offering tax forgiveness so they can repatriate the money. They do not want to pay any taxes and that is why they were stashing it and are lobbying to have their taxes "forgiven" so they can bring the cash home.

***** There are other options. To do this only encourages them to do more of this stashing to avoid taxes. It is a policy wholly bought with lobbyist money and is not in the interest of the tax payers or anyone else that does pay their taxes.

+monolo murda They are not out to get us but they do not owe us anything. Stating the facts of the situation is not "using scare tactics" as you so lamely assert. Please explain how anything he said was wrong, I will be waiting.
