StunnedByStupidity Nye did a good job in this debate but he was fighting a guy who brought a spoon to a knife fight and it was hard for him to lose. I do not see why you have the hate on for bill though, I have not seen you point out anything he did that was weak in this debate or that validates your spin. You attacked his background with an assertion of what he has said before (with no reference I may add) and that is the weakest straw man because it did not limit his ability to crush Ham in this debate.

StunnedByStupidity Ham is going to get time anyway and like it or not his voice has far too much power as he already has a platform. The way to take it away is to expose his painfully weak spin to the light of day I and I think Bill did a good job of that. In a debate with a clown like Ham you do not have to be unimpeachable as the nuances you are a concerned about were not even on the radar. In this conversation Bill had everything he needed to crush him and did. I really do get what you mean but in a world where a large group of people disagree with reality in favor of dogma a guy like Nye is useful in communicating the basics of complex subjects to an uneducated and ignorant audience. He does this in a way that science has consistently failed to do with the audience in question. This debate was not targeted at you or me as we already know ham is a moron. This is meant to reach people who need a familiar face who sounds reasonable before they even listen to what is being said.

Having faith is not the issue, it is when you are certain you are right that the problems start. You may not be able to imagine a world without a god but that does not mean the earth is 6000 years old or that a guy crammed all 15 million different types of animals into a ship. Reject the garbage we have shown to be false and find a place your faith can live in the real world or it is a lie. Science says literally nothing about god and you can slide him into anywhere he fits. But denying reality and actual facts because you can not imagine how we can not exist without a god is intellectually lazy. Take the time and try to ratify your god with the actual world, find a place both he and reason can exist side by side. There is no reason to replace information with your particular churches dogma, there in is a path to abject ignorance that benefits no one.
