@yellowgreen5229 The Russian federated sates have zero reason to be afraid of the kind of invasion they are actually committing. There was NEVER any chance of NATO banning together to attack Russia first, NONE. When anyone talks about NATO invading, they are talking nonsense. The concern that dozens of liberal democracies will all agree to randomly start a war that can only lead to nuclear exchange is deeply ignorant and detached from reality. It turns out Putin's apparent concerns about invasion were pure projection. It is now very clear why he wanted NATO disbanded. It is a good thing level heads prevailed and we did not listen. Russia under Putin is an aggressive, repressive, imperialist stain. Capitulating to their silly toothless demands after they have shown such bad faith and a weak hand makes no sense to a working brain. Let us make this clear, MAD is still in play. Nothing tactically has changed about the use of nuclear weapons since the cold war. Unless Putin wants to rule over radio active slag heaps, he will not use them. NATO was formed to counter the exact kind of aggression Russia is showing in Ukraine. Demands by Russia for them to disband are empty and ridicous at this point. If we did not have NATO, this invasion would have been over as fast as Crimea was.
