  1. It is very convenient though. Also, Kossacks are an ethnic group. So they still around and Putin , has been strengthening their position in Russia's power structure. They were security at Sochi , remember the video in which they beat pusdy riot? To me Ukraine and Russia have radar to determine things. But the separatists, that are not entirely disciplined like an army. Will not have the check's and balances.

  2. Well I doubt Ukraine recorded it. We already know from Snowden's leaks, that NSA and America just record everything. Then if something happens, they dive into their data to find it. So they likely gave it to Ukraine. I very much though, do think the separatists did it. Their areas been getting bombed, they then needed defense. But they did not have radar, so they wouldn't of been able to verify it. Thus shot it down, also disagree with john. If you listen to the tone of voice, it very much sounds like "ah shit" and sad.
