That's not how it works. Northern Ireland is bound by the 1998 Good Friday Agreement that both signatories and the EU must uphold which brexit won't. The GFA offers its Northern Irish Citizens a path to reunification if so they should ever desire, but to decide whether there is appetite for a vote is up to the first minister of Northern Ireland (who was picked by the current Tory and DUP ), and it's even more impossible given that Stormont has been inactive for over 400 days now. Yes, Sinn Fein collapsed it, but only because of the sheer lack collaboration on the DUP side of the fence on a Scots Gael traced Irish Language Act. That and the accusation of DUPs ash-for-cash scandal that no one outside if the island of Ireland knows about. Scotland is another kettle of fish. They were conned in 2014 to stay in a union that will continue to be an EU member.

sooner *you leave, the better. But you're not carving Northern Ireland, a portion of Ireland and the GFA out.

@AndrewFosterEsquire The EU itself was the key, the overlapping basis and one of the scriptors to the Good Friday Agreement. It's not unaware. And since at the very least Ireland is a serious defender of the treaty, so is the EU in turn, we're both the same. There's no one doubting the implications of Brexit to Northern Ireland, especially us in all of Ireland. But we didn't vote for this. We and our top officials who travelled across he water did warn about this as early as 2015 but the brexer-brigade told us to shove off. It's an English phenomenon of its own. None of you these brexit men are fooling us, not in the last 3 years. The referendum was clearly England's sheer wealth and weight tipping the scales as "democratic". It's an old theme that reminds much of us why we strived Irish Independance. These days up until that election and there after had the stench of propaganda and meddling (i.e Cambridge Analytica). It went completely rife and learning a bit of 20th century history could spell it out that democracies can be swayed and manipulated when they're not educated and well defended itself. Maybe saying the '14 ScotRef as conned is definitively ott. But it was so glaringly obvious for those who were used to tories from a-far. And what a coincidence has it turned out for them! The Scottish valued unionship (European unionship) in the end, only for it to be ripped from them in this debaccle. Let alone what we in Ireland think about literally being ripped in half again.
