@StreamerVideo I understand what you're saying, but cage fighting is not the same world as street fighting. No gloves, hard ground, no rules. Entirely different world. Also, Bruce Lee trained to kill, not to knock out or submit. That is another reason he never competed, he understood the true purpose behind it, yet welcomed sparring.
And I also said he beat the world's best in his time, a 70+ year old man would be impractical.
Martial arts is disappearing in certain cultures and "evolved" into sport. Before they were meant to defend yourself or test in occasion with others, earlier than that, war.
I disagree entirely anyone in the UFC would beat a street fighter (who typically have multiple disciplines). Remember what Bruce Lee said: "I don't fear the man that has practiced 10,000 kicks, I fear the man that has practiced the same kick 10,000 times."
If Bruce beat Joe Lewis of all people, he wouldn't be as easy as you think. In a cage, he might lose because restricted. Outside, never.
Being varied is super beneficial, but expanding on a discipline, having the speed and precision to execute can defeat any opponent. All it takes is one moment, one punch to null the five ways you could beat someone.
Too many rules in combat sports for real fighting to be applicable.

@StreamerVideo Thus why Bruce Lee trained in various areas and pushed, focused on countering. He was an expert at this and emphasized it in his writings. How can you do any of what you mentioned if per-emptively stopped? You can't tussle on concrete as well as mat, and mma fighters aren't actually pro fighters, but compete. A difference unless years at it or in real fights.
Bruce Lee did train in all areas, but all martial arts, I should be specific in original ones, were made to kill. More modern ones were not of course, many are watered down now and only combat sport applicable; Muay Thai and other forms are still raw in native country.
MMA may be entertaining, may teach great things about fighting in controlled environment, but it's nowhere near the same as unpredictable, unbarred street fighting (especially against someone that does it professionally).
