  1. Exactly! I get so frustrated when people claim to be in the middle (open minded, neutral, whatever they try to call it). At this point, and it has been like this for awhile now, it's "us vs. them". You either believe in this country and its form of government, values, customs, and traditions, or you're against it and want to change or destroy our way of life.

  2. what other kind of politics are there? The kind where you agree with the people who oppose your values, and you give up your own beliefs and values so the other people can impose theirs on you?

  3.  @anime-mun  oh, so you're saying a group of people who believe in..... oh, let's say free speech, and want to fight against the people who want to abolish free speech, have an "inherent disdain for their own existence"??? On the contrary, it's called believing in something and fighting for what you believe in. Because you can be assured, if there weren't "partisans" on our side, the other side would run roughshod over everything "our side" believes in. It's pretty simple. There are several factions trying to change this country in many ways, from our form of government to whether we have a standing army. If you dont pick a side , you will be stuck living in a country you may not like anymore.

  5.  @anime-mun  I guess I get your point, but my point is that partisan means picking a side. Politics is about promoting what YOU believe to be the best course of action. If youre not partisan, and just roll over and let "the other side" take what it wants, your best interests will never come to fruition. One huge argument I and many people have had against Republicans is that even though many supposedly believe in the same things I do, when they get a chance to fight for those things or enact them, they roll over and try NOT to be "partisan", thus simply letting the Democrats (or any entity on the other side) get their way. Politics IS partisan, at least in a diverse and large country like ours. There are too many people trying to get their views promoted, over someone elses. Im sorry for being argumentative, but "non-partisan politics" is simply a utopia, impossible, and you end up making things worse by trying for it.
