Typically Dutch is pea soup with smoked sausage. We especially eat it when winters are cold enough to skate on ice.

@welshie2007 I'm from The Netherlands, Europe and unfortunately summers are becoming increasingly more humid, causing mold problems. While, unlike this winter, most winters come with very dry air making humidification necessary...

Greetings from The Netherlands, I just discovered your channel and liked this video so much! I would love it, if one day you could make a video about homosexuality in Japan, how Japanese society sees gay people, and maybe a bit about the Japanese gay community itself. And if there is a difference between how older Japanese people and younger ones look at it.

How do you battle humidity, I wonder?

Your channel is super! I know your channel is about Japan, but I would also like to see a few more personal videos, about you... it would be interesting and nice to learn a bit more about your life, things that are important to you....and I am sure you can somehow tie it to the bigger topic of Japan and Japanese culture. Maybe, also a video talking about how/where foreigners can get in touch with Japanese people in internet, would be great. Of course these are just suggestions. Best wishes for the New Year!

I am not here to criticize you, you are way to kind to criticize to start with.....;-) But worshipping ancestors is not part of buddhism. Even the Buddha himself did not aks us to worship him. Maybe it is just the translation into English. "Paying respect to" is probably a better expression. Are you a full buddhist yourself? I know for sure that the Buddha is right and his path is the right one, but I still find it hard to walk his path and here in Europe with so few buddhists, it is quite lonely. With love from The Netherlands ❤ PS: Our countries have a very rich history together ❤ just think about "Dejima".
