So they are intentionally creating a bill seeking to eliminate profit from rent?? Imagine if you eliminated profit from making cheese, there would be no cheese. There is a housing shortage and they are eliminating potential for profit. This would be an absolute disaster for rentals. You don't increase the supply of something by eliminating profit, you reduce the regulations associated with something to draw in investment. If they were smart, they would make it easier to evict bad tenants that don't pay rent. Eliminate rent control and let the free market draw in as many investors as possible. The price will drop like a rock because supply will sky rocket. Eliminate public housing and section 8, this is artificially taking supply of housing away from paying tenants.
