The interest rate thing along with a couple other factors, tariffs being one is the EXACT reason why the Democrat rollout of spending for wind and solar energy expansion is going to do very little to stimulate expansion of these energy sources. They're capital intensive and require very large upfront costs. They require a lot of aluminum and steel for which there are tariffs and of course solar panels are mostly imported and most of them have tariffs on them leaving companies that would invest very little choice of the type of panel they use regardless of what the economics tells them. This was supposed to be an opportunity for low cost wind and solar energy and instead it's going to be the opposite, which higher interest rates and higher materials costs forced by the US govt. I don't know how a pres. and party could be more stupid.
