  8. Key point to understand this "stagnation" is, it was NOT a stagnation at all - it was the norm. NOT innovating was the norm in the ancient world - including Europe. Keeping traditional methods and shunning new ideas was common place, whereas having innovative periods was the exception. The scientific revolution, on the other hand, was a profound mentality change in Europe (not all of Europe, just a few selected countries). Europe started innovating like never before, while the rest of the world saw no reason to do the same. When Europeans started dominating the world, that's when the rest of the world understood it was either modernize, or become an European colony.

Biden has repeatedly criticized the bombings (first time ever an American president openly criticizes Israel), France and England are criticizing the Israeli government's actions and pretty much Israel has lost trust everywhere. So no, it isn't "only the Palestinians".

  38.  @curlanable  Too easy to blame things on other countries, but the truth is, we can mess our own politics ourselves. We don't need the Americans help. Just look at Brazilian politics for the past twenty years. Lots of stupid populism, vast incompetence, tons of corruptipn and lots, lots of debt. Doesn't matter how much the population works, politicians manage to screw things up. About going forward, it's quite the opposite. We've had a major economic crisis in 2015, due to the government's massive debt and corruption scandals, and guess what? We've just elected the responsible party once again. So no, things will not move forward.

  39.  @curlanable  Europe isn't socialist, it's the pinnacle of capitalism. Social measures are intended to provide a better workforce, not share wealth. American interference in Brazil, my country, has happened in the 60's, and this is well documented. Since then we have ruined our own economy, with no outside interference at all, completely our fault, in the 80s, in 1992 and in 2015. So US interference is the past. Our own incompetence and corruption is the present.

  40. Pretty much it's a trust issue. The Dollar is reliable as hell and its printing is tightly controlled. If the government can do it whenever it wants, dollar would depreciate quickly and trust around the world on the American coin would deteriorate.

Who has the means of production, how much liberty citizens have, who has the right to participate on decisions and so on.
