  1. there will always be a party of the rich [dems] and a party of the richer still, currently the repugnicans. it's built into the structure of the state, and the culture of usa. this is why nations disappear- their political apparatus becomes obsolete and the culture prevents change. but usually they just stagger on, reduced in power or subservient to a stronger neighbor. this looks like the future of the usa- gifted with safe borders, but unable to compete with the natural power of a resurgent china. i imagine the usa will become the 'russia' of the west, second rank power, or third. it's no use being dignified or 'intelligent,' if you are convinced the world is flat, are perfectly comfortable with the notion that the elite should rule, and the commons accept their place in life, even if it is starvation.
