the usa is a plutocracy. it was designed to be, and the design has been outstandingly successful. as a result of being locked out of the national management process, the people do not acquire the education and character to perform as citizens. they are merely civilians, watchers at best, frequently utterly unconcerned with any event outside personal view. such people are the road-kill of history.
