of course not. humanity has would-be authoritarians in its soul. democracy not impossible, but it is unlikely. there are grass-roots feel-good stories, but no visible 'nation-wide' movement to democracy. even vaguely left talking heads have no aspiration beyond getting a kind master. you need citizen quality people to start and maintain democracy, and not many grow in oligarchic societies.. bad news, eh? it gets worse: elite rule of any nature is taking h. sap. to extinction from environmental collapse.
