  1. if you don't want democracy, you must accept a political elite. in america, they are owned by the rich. always have been, because that is the purpose and design of the constitution. madison explained that democracy would result in rich man's money being spent on the poor, and he did his best to make sure that didn't happen. there has been some leakage, but the design worked brilliantly, the rich still rule, and many pay no taxes at all. if you don't want democracy, then don't complain about your government, it reeks of hypocrisy, or stupidity.
