  1. usa was born crooked, and unlikely to change. so much easier to take a pill than to change society. and immediate profits for the pill people. it turns out that nations age, much as people do, and usa is actually a very old society. it is about 230 years old, while france is on its 5th republic, and had a monarchy in the middle. and staid old china has been turned up-side down several times. the arteries are hardening, they are hiring more police and out-fitting them with shock-troop equipment, while the quality of politician should terrify the world. the biggest military in the world is at the command of people who should not be trusted with a barrow-man's license. erratic behavior by common people is symptomatic of a culture that has lost all sense of reality. mass murder is frequent, but mirrors the activity of the elite, who direct their 'special forces' to kill foreigners who resist usa hegemony. we may hope this society will soon collapse, for lack of people committed to its success. but will they get off the stage without burning down the theater?
