  1. recessions are built in, the cyclic economy is tolerated because there is easy money to be made on the up-swing, and if you are well-connected, you can profit from the down-swing too. hell of a way to run a nation, but usa is not run 'for the people.' that's because it's not run 'by the people.' lincoln lied, all politicians lie. the people of the usa are chumps. no shame in it, you are raised that way. but nothing will change until the elite bleed the nation to death. this change will likely be permanent penury, but the climate collapse may bust society right down to hunter-gather level, or extinction. do not complain about this depressing future. it's all yer own work.
