  1. in order for ordinary people to have rights, they must first have decisive power. first you get democracy, the power of the people to decide. then you decide to direct the nation as the people wish. talking about rights when you don't have power is wishful thinking. you can talk about privileges, freedoms extended by your masters, and curtailed and ended, as they wish. but living with privileges is how you got to here.
