  1. you can't fix democracy, if you haven't got it. if you don't even know you haven't got it, you don't have any direction to move, being ignorant past instruction. for lack of an educated populace, the nations of the world are directed by an elite of some kind. an elite is on top, and any change is unwelcome. this is going to lead to disaster, possible extinction. if, suddenly, democracy were general, and the people were educated to their role as masters of the nation. disaster could be averted. but that window of opportunity passed, and in reality it was never in reach of homer sap. didn't miss by much, we can see what we should have done, if we were a little more civilized, and less submissive to the sociopaths who generally direct our nations.
