  1. the take-away here is nixon was a simple sociopath, and lbj was simply corrupt to his bones, and both were more concerned with staying on top of america than than the general welfare of americans. if you read the personal history of eisenhower, you will be less impressed with his 'military-industrial complex' speech too. he did warn about two aspects of elite rule in america, but after careful consideration left the greatest danger of all: congress. the people of usa will sink into poverty for lack of leadership in revolution, and would not be well-educated enough to organize or even participate in revolution to democracy. the best they can hope for is a military tyrant who will throw them a few coins, in return for civil unrest leading to the transfer of power. 'you get the government' you deserve is true, once you understand that social evolution is as unfeeling as mother nature at work.
