  1. not much point in analysing religion, but as a marker for brute greed, hunger and rage, it's fast and reliable.when you have an iq of about 80, it makes as much sense as science, and is pretty maleable, so any number of conmen have made a career out of it. the sad fact is, the most militarily powerful nation has an ignorant and credulous populace, and an amoral elite willing to say anything to get what they want. nothing unique about that, but our weapons threaten extinction quickly, industry only a little less quickly, and political discourse is still at the georgian level, with occasional dips into feudal banditry. young people are entitled to be really angry with oldies, but fortunately, most are too ill-educated to understand what's happening.
