  1. inflation sounds like a good thing, if you have nothing, or maybe some land with a house on it. if you are renting, eventually not so good. but cash in hand today, tomorrow may not come. what seems clear, is that some societies are remarkably fragile, held together by everyone doing as they are expected too, and knocked over by a disease of which 1 in a hundred has, of which 2 in a hundred die, and more than half of those on a pension, no loss, economically. canada is at least trying to transition back to normality with minimum pain to its people, in obvious contrast to usa. the wrong people are running canda, and worse people running usa. there is room for science in the design of political society. there are phd's who concern themselves with this matter, why are they silent?
