  1. they don't have to pretend anymore. the people are cowed, the politicians all drinking from the same cask, the intelligentsia reduced to twittering birds,-, valuable only for variegated plumage. i marvel. even china found a way to revolt, and they had nothing to fight with. usa began with with widespread possession of fire-arms and literacy, and still can't even dream of getting democracy. i suspect usa drinking water has been drugged. i blame coca-cola. in any event, if your view of salvation involves voting for 'better' politicians, you are the problem, not the solution.
