  1. Looks like based off the break and how clean the crystals are the head got hot and it harded the Cam and made it brittle and it broke its a common spot to break were it did because it's the extended side to come out the timing cover Ray @Rainman Ray's Repairs

Toyotas are super sensitive especially the older years like this one I have seen working at the Toyota dealership simple sensors like throttle position sensors that were aftermarket cause hole banks to stop firing especially aftermarket cam sensors but this one I am thinking the VVT has Failed on that bank @Rainman Ray's Repairs

  3. Oh snap the cam is Broke That is a ton of torque To brake A Cam I have seen that a few times the cam lm lockes up and cam snaps also seen bolts come loose in the timing compartment a few times @Rainman Ray's Repairs

  5. Older toyotas like this hate aftermarket sensors they never run correctly because the voltage is slitley different on aftermarket sensors a 10th of a volt difference isnt good because toyotas are very specific to there tolerances especial on sensors @Rainman Ray's Repairs
