  1. wrt to the question about no London treaty. I would expect the USN to scrap the Floridas, Wyomings and New Yorks, and possibly the Nevadas, to provide tonnage for new build ships. The later "standard" battleships would be radically improved the way the Italian Cavour and Andrea Doria class ships were reengined, rebuilt, and rearmed.
