  1.  @Volunteer-per-order_OSullivan  wrt BB designs available in 35, there were probably early iterations of the KGV on paper, but, due to the BB construction moratorium extended through 36 by First London, the only designs actively under construction in 35 were Littorio, Scharnhorest, Dunkerque and Richeleau. iirc the Naval Treaties prohibited yards in countries that were parties to the treaties building BBs that exceeded treaty limits for sale to other countries, so, if India wanted a BB that exceeded treaty limits, it would have to shop in countries that were not in the treaty. Everything is conspiring for India's ambition of being a battleship owner to be frustrated.
