@brucewilliams1892 The deck in Drac's pix does not look the Lex's deck when I was on her, some 50-odd years ago. The Lex's deck forward was still wood. The after flight deck, with the angled part, looked like fine grained asphalt, which I suspect was some sort of non-skid coating on steel. The after deck was also a fraction of an inch higher than the forward part, enough of a difference that the planes visibly changed attitude as they went down the short ramp from the angled part onto the original forward part of the deck.
