@psychologicaltirefire8190 how far back do you want to go? The Battle of Lake Erie was fought on September 10, 1813. Not technically a "Great Lake" but battles were fought on Lake Champlain during both the revolution and War of 1812. During WWI, Ford Motor produced Eagle Boats at the Rouge complex in Dearborn, MI. During WWII a variety of subs, LSTs, tugs, and more, were produced around the lakes, which then made their way along rivers and canals to the ocean.

@johnshepherd9676 yes, and Marionette is also building the Constellation class frigates now. It appears that, unlike the benighted Freedom class, Lockheed does not have it's fingers into the Constellations. Marinette's parent company, Fincantieri, based the Constellations on the Bergamini class FREMM Fincantieri builds for the Italian navy.
