My best advice is to try and help people understand that our world is too unique and too diverse for only one form of government, religion, currency, language......diversity is what makes this world different. Also just because you value something, doesn't mean someone else sees it the same way. In America, we value the 2nd amendment, for many Americans this is HUGE! But in China, it means absolutely nothing, Chinese citizens would gladly not have any guns in society in exchange for a peaceful, low crime, safe country. Freedom means different things to different people

@chrishannis1 I believe you mean why do they not report? Maybe because many of the Chinese vloggers are on the ground in China, no one is traveling to Taiwan. Even if you fail to recognize that Taiwan is part of China (which it is, you can read the Taiwanese constitution, ask it's largest trading partner the US, or ask the United Nations) it's pretty easy to understand why people vlog about China. It's the fastest growing superpower in the world and plays a huge role in the global economy. Taiwan is an amazing place, I love the people, food, and chilled out atmosphere there, like Tibet, Xinjiang, HK, Macau....Taiwan is an amazing part of why the country of China is so special

@MarkYeung1 definitely won't argue against that, although I would like share another perspective that someone sent to me just yesterday for some perspective that we should also consider: As for the freedom to vote, yes Taiwan currently have the right to vote for our president. However, Chiang Ching-kuo was considered by many people in Taiwan as our greatest president, and he was not even elected, it was passed down by his father Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang Ching-kuo was responsible for the "Big 10 infrastructure" that lifted Taiwan's economy, he called back elite engineers from all over the world to improve infrastructure and policies, start up many successful companies like TSMC. That was period of "Taiwan Economic Miracle".
Since then, we had a change in policy where we get to vote for our president, but the economy got worse and worse, the starting salary almost didn't improve for nearly 20 years, and the conflict between 2 major parties and their supporters got even worse.

@michaelcarpenter5149 try doing what the HK rioters have done in any other part of the world and see how the police would respond. In my home country of America, if rioters attacked police, destroyed, and looted a city, they would be shot.
Sure, there are cases were some police have gone too far, exactly like some of the police in America. However the vast majority of police in HK are restrained, peaceful, and simply doing what there job requires them to do. Keep peace and order in a city.
When you make a comment like "but they don’t know how important it is to acknowledge the protesters’ perspective" you are using your emotion not actual facts to judge a situation.
Western media is extremely biased against China, and will do anything they can to put China down.
Your comment "The western media does not twist the truth. There is a reason why they are broadcasting this to the public, and they wouldn’t twist the issue if it isn’t happening." just shows you really don't know what's actually going along and your only source is Western media. Please do more research and take your emotions out of your analysis and use facts.

US stocks are a vehicle to hold US dollar to beat inflation and the declining spending power of the USD. For example, if you are holding USD in a savings account and gaining 3%, then you are actually losing money because 3% is less than inflation and declining purchasing power. But let's say you take your USD and invest in Nvidia stock the past 12 months, then you're still able to hold USD and make money, as this stock has outperformed most stocks and is a clear winner (not financial advise, just an example) this is the same theory on gold. If you buy gold and hold for long term, there will always be value. Gold has been valuable since Bible times, so even if USD purchasing value continues to plummet, you just need more dollars, same 1oz of gold will just be worth more USD over time, that's why precious metals can help you avoid the loss of purchasing power

@mq5731 Thanks for taking the time to write these long comments. I read both of them and both are well composed, however I don't agree with your points and stand by the points I illustrated in my video. But I'm always happy to engage in a dialogue, but we will have to agree to disagree on many points. I'll just highlight a few.....Tiananmen Square, there are many reports that contradict the statements you made. It is not clear that that only a massacre of students occurred and in fact there were also many Chinese military officers killed in this incident as well. Western media would never speak of this because it doesn't fit the narrative. As far as HK National Security Law, this was written in Article 23 and was meant to be passed as law in 1997....that's as clear as day and no one can argue that point. There is just no way to justify what the rioters did to the city. You want to destroy your own city and commit crimes to pressure Beijing? Not a chance, the national security law is important as it protects the city from outside threat. There is no speculation that foreign governments "might have" been behind these protests, it is a well known fact that they indeed were meddling in China's affairs in an effort to break China. Hence the repeated attacks against WeChat, Huawei, Tik Tok, Chinese students....really are these actual security threats? Not a chance, but it's the only card the US has left to play because they are losing the technology battle. Don't get me wrong, US is still world leader in tech and Silicon Valley is incredible but Shenzhen and Beijing are the new markets where tech is being developed, and there are more unicorns in Beijing than anywhere else in the world. I believe the real issue is Western governments cannot believe the true success China has been able to accomplish in the last 3 decades. To be honest, it must baffle them, on paper this is not what a "Communist" country should be able to do, but they have done it, improved the lives of hundreds of millions, and gained the respect and trust (which is something American government definitely does not have from its citizens) in the process. Pompeo wants to change China to be more like America, America dreams of China having a democracy because you can manipulate a democracy (watch the movie Social Dilemma for context), but culturally a Western style democracy would never work for China, and why do they need to change? What business is it for America to meddle into other countries? We have more than enough domestic problems to focus on in America. Imagine if the US government focused all their energy into improving the country and the lives of Americans, it would be simply amazing! I hope one day American can learn this from China, for when a country has a single focus, it can truly accomplish a lot, and there is no better example than China :)

@ariancheung88 great comments Arian, I hear a lot of the points you make. After living in China for a decade I personally feel that Central government wants to see a healthy relationship with HK in the future. I've always said this and stand by this statement, the future of HK's success depends on a healthy relationship with China. I'm opposed to any foreign interference in China/HK matters because it's quite simply none of their business. Why are US senators going to HK? Do they really want democracy for HK people? In America you follow the money, and as much as these politicians want you to believe they genuinely support democracy, they are in HK for one reason and one reason only. To weaken China, they want to fuel democracy protests in HK in an attempt to weaken China. The HK youth are being used as pawns in a US/China battle of chess.
You ask me what I think about police brutality in HK, remember I'm American and look at my home country right now. How long have the protests occur in America before the military national guard, and brutality came in? What was it 48hrs? Compare the actions of the HK police to American police and it's not even close.
The vast majority of the HK police have been reserved and well mannered. Have there been instances of excessive force? Absolutely...should they be held accountable, absolutely. However if you commit arson, assault common citizens, loot stores, what response do you think you will get from the police? I hate the argument that the police are at fault. It is their job to keep order in the city. They have had an unbelievably hard job in HK the last 12 months.
HK can't continue down this road, peace and stability must be delivered to the city. I am against all acts of violence but how can you say it's only the police fault when you see the violent, malicious intent of a lot (not all) the protestors

My pleasure Travis...Hong Kong is one of the most incredible cities in the world, and the law is needed to bring back peace and order. It always amazed me the racism I witnessed in HK to Mainland Chinese visitors...I always thought...these people fill the airplanes, hotels, restaurants, shops, taxis, and tourists destinations, pumping billions into your local economy and you hate them? Talk about biting the hand that feeds you....look at all these industries struggle over the past 12 months....HK needs this law immediately.
As far as Covid....HK is always the first example I give for the model city.....7.5 million, 1k cases, 4 deaths, with face masks and social distancing....wish America could have opened their eyes and learned. Continued safety for you and your family Travis!

@Defaultname0000 again I'm not running down my homeland...I'm promoting working together with China...don't forget which country bailed out American buy purchasing US debt during 2008 financial crisis, China literally saved America, and that's a point that Americans just simply don't realize. There is enough hate in the world....China is not our enemy, if you want to go down this road of hate and war, be my guest, that is your freedom. But it's not what I stand for, I believe in learning from each other and realizing that China has helped make America great for decades. Yes you brought up a good point, Apple phones are designed in California, but they're manufactured in China, without China, Apple wouldn't be where it is today. I look at the comments of my videos many with over 98% like rating, I know I am preaching the right message. United States and China is better together. If we go down your path (and the one Pompeo certainly wants us to go down) that results in WWIII which is game over for America, China, and the entire world. Take care Mike, all the best to you

I disagree with the 99% not a chance its anywhere close to that...older Chinese would prefer to stay in China, and even many affluent Chinese even who send their kids abroad prefer to remain in China. For the rising middle class and upper class, they can have the best of both world and travel between North America, I know this first hand as I lived in Richmond, British Columbia which has a 74% Chinese population and the majority of people love going back home to China. Tens of thousands of Chinese left Richmond at the start of the pandemic to go back to China because it would be safer in China than Western countries. Where I think you are right is younger generation. For sure, younger Chinese citizens would like to go to USA, but after speaking with many young Chinese, it's really not about "democracy, freedom of speech, etc" it's just the opportunity to be a small fish in a smaller pond. In China, you are a small fish, in the world's largest pond. Maybe one day China will be a democracy, but that will have to come internally, the more US pushes democracy down the throats of Chinese, the more resistance they will give, let's be honest, no one is looking at the US and envious of our also corrupt and ridiculous government. Want China to become democratic? Then US should focus on being a role model of democracy, right now we are a backsliding and dysfunctional democracy facing our own major isses

@fclopez1 Awesome! What an experience Frank, I'm so glad you've had the opportunity to live and work in China and experience it first hand and also travel around the country. The Chinese are very curious and love speaking with foreigners. I know doubt could see a crowd gathering around you and you telling them a story for hours at a time. You've seen first hand how much China has changed in those years you spent there, and then from 2010-2020 another huge transformation that continues. I would never say the CPC is a perfect system, it has its flaws like other governments. I am also adamant that China's system should only be kept in China. I don't think their system would really work anywhere else in the world either. But after spending a decade of my life working in China (I also was not an English teacher) I began my career as a golf professional managing golf courses and eventually led a sports marketing firm in HK....I would say that the majority of Chinese people are genuinely happy with their lives and are supportive of their government. Trump boasted earlier this year on a 53% approval rating in a particular poll. China's government is well more supported than that, Harvard's study indicates it's > 95%...no doubt there are people in XJ, Taiwan, HK, Tibet, Inner Mongolia that don't support, but they are not the majority. Western media certainly portrays them to be, but take for example HK, very few people actually want a full separation from BJ, many want democracy, but many also want democracy under Chinese rule and do not agree with separatists. As you know China is a complicated system. My personal belief, America should have zero say in other countries affairs. We have enough domestic problems to keep our government busy for years to come.

@fclopez1 not quite...it's not that I don't think that they should have the right to choose, its the fact that they don't need to choose because they already have the system they want....for example, let's imagine America came in and said, Chinese people listen up, you need the right to choose! So starting tomorrow we are going to have free and open elections, you can choose to continue with this option and be like the West, or you can freely vote and choose to revert back to your communist ways, it would be a landslide victory for reverting. Now are there Chinese people that want free and open elections? Absolutely, but the vast majority don't, they are very happy with their way of life (how could you not be, look at what China's government has accomplished for its citizens last 30 years). Quite frankly, America has done a horrible job of selling democracy with the last 4 years of our president. If that's what a free and open vote results in, most Chinese would not be interested

Short sighted thinking....Let me give you some perspective to help you better understand. As YouTubers, we pour hours of our time and energy to make high quality videos, this isn't a hobby, it's how we make a living, and sponsors support us to do just that, make high quality videos for us to enjoy. All successful YouTubers have sponsors, even Mr Beast the #1 YouTuber in the world who makes millions of dollars per month in Google adsense revenue, without sponsors, his videos wouldn't be possible. In addition, the sponsor is a quality product and you can save money with my discount code, it's a true win win for everyone involved. Thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed the video!

@ariancheung88
#1) the extradition law was proposed because a HK man killed his pregnant girlfriend in Taiwan and couldn't be held for trial....this is a massive loophole...why are HK people so worried about the extradition law? What massive crime are you they planning to commit? Of course the answer is none, therefore this new law would have zero effect on 99.99% of HK people
2) Ranking #3 in the world for freedom was amazing, that was achieved post-1997 but now HK will never have a chance to do that again, not because of Beijing, but because of the actions of HK protesters themselves....go back to point #1 I honestly still can't believe there was protests over the extradition law, HK is a safe haven for criminals. HKers are so worried that even the slightest spoken word or social media post would result in them being locked up for decades or killed in a Chinese prison....there is a tremendous amount of fear and paranoia, but it's not justified.
3) Look at how much the CPC has changed over the last 3 decades, it is constantly changing and improving its strategies
4) China has never said that it wants to remove the "1 Country, 2 Systems" government, it also has never said that HK has lost its autonomy. Beijing benefits from HK's trade status, so why wouldn't BJ want this to continue? Joshua Wong and his protesters have lobbied to America to sanction themselves in an effort to cut off their nose and spite their face...really just to piss off Beijing, but it's only HK and Americans who lose in this deal, as the two places enjoy $66 billion dollars of trade between them.
Do more research into Tiananmen Square and the Uighurs, Western media tells a one-sided picture of both stories, but if China really wanted to destroy the Uighur culture then why did the government invest so much infrastructure into Xinjiang, have you ever been there? It's an amazing province with many happy people
5) I believe the CPC represents the views and opinions of the Chinese people, do some research and look at national polls in China. >90% of Chinese people have trust in their government, over >90% believe their life will be better in 5 years than it is today. Is this not a government that represents the people's ideas? Why would Chinese people not expect their lives to continue, look at what has happened to their quality of life, income, and cities they live in, all of them have grown 10x, 20x, 30x bigger in the last 3 decades. Look I know that you want democracy and you think it really will solve your problems, but look at America right now, it has democracy and a plethora of social issues. It is not a silver bullet that will magically fix all your problems.
6) Let me give you a great example of foreign interference, just happened yesterday when America said they will strip HK of its autonomous status. China is the only country in the world that governs HK. America is constantly meddling in HK and using these protests as an attempt to weaken China. As you know China does not allow any foreign interference. What would happen if China sent Chinese politicians to America right now to stand on the streets of Minneapolis and make videos stating, "We support you Minnesota! Liberate Minnesota!" do you think the US government would allow that? Zero chance....they would say this is an internal matter of US, go back to China. The same thing is essentially happening in HK.
Arian, I appreciate you taking the time to discuss this with me, but here is the interesting thing. Most of the older generation support the National Security Law, they are proud to call themselves Chinese, and realize that HK is, was, and always will be part of China. For the middle age businessman that are making lots of money in HK right now, it's because they are taking advantage of being from HK and having the best opportunity in the world to do trade and business with Mainland China. It's the youth, many of these violent protesters are students, who have never worked a day in their life, live at home with their parents, and rely on their parents for income, that are protesting, committing these violent actions. It shows a lack of real world experience and just a basic knowledge of how things work.
Now I don't know you, your age, your income, work experience, etc.... But you sound like a reasonable person who has taken the time to have a civilized discussion with me. We both love HK, we both want the best for the city's future, but the future of HK depends on a healthy relationship with China. I wish more HKers would go to China and spend more time getting to know the country. The National Security Law will hopefully bring peace and brighter days ahead for Asia's World City!

#1 Imagine if violent protests never happened, China wouldn't have been forced to enact the security law and HK people would still be ranked #3 in the world for freedom.
#2 Every government type is imperfect because perfection doesn't exist
#3 Pursue the better together! Yes this is exactly what I am all about, we must exist together
#4 Example of how China has been good....study what HK was like pre-1997 handover....when the British ruled HK people had zero freedoms, votes, or anything, they were treated like dogs, unfortunately anyone under the age of 40 is too young to remember these times. Talk to the older generation and learn what it was like under British colony days. HK achieved their ranking of freedom post-1997.....23 years of Chinese rule and they are #3 in the world. Other examples of what China has been good at? How about alleviating 80% of the world's poverty in the last 3 decades. Go to Mainland China and talk to the people there and ask them what they think of their government and quality of life. The vast majority (some polls indicate over 90%) are very positive. Talk to the hundreds of thousands of expats who choose to live in China, because of the high quality of life.
#5 Why are you at the same time scared of implementing the democracy that protesters desire for Hong Kong? China is not scared to implement democracy, they simply have proven over the past 60 years that there is another way to govern a country besides democracy. China's one party state has accomplished more in the last 4 decades than any other country on the planet. Don't get me wrong I'm not anti-democracy, I think democracy is a fine form of government...for some countries. It is definitely not a one size fit all solution for every country. With China's decades of continued success why change? Why switch? Just so people can have the right to vote? When I spent time with 2014 protesters in HK I asked them one simple question....why do you want democracy? The only answer people could give me is, because we want to vote, because America has it, etc....it's as if people just want to vote because it's the cool thing to do. Americans have the right to vote....see what happened in 2016? We had a choice between bad and bad, now 4 years later do you see how angry and upset Americans are at their government? Voting for your leader isn't the silver bullet to fix all your problems.

Thanks for the comment Melissa, you are right the 99 years of British rule certainly played an incredible role in developing the city into what it is today, however during this rule, HK people were still HK people, they were still Chinese, and it was a lease, never full ownership. Therefore although HK people were British subjects, they never were truly British as they never were given citizenship. However, I'm with you! I don't want HK to be turned into another Chinese city, HK is truly one of the most special places in the world because of its history, culture, language, etc....I have faith that China will keep the 1 country, 2 systems because it is in their best interest. Beijing has already said, HK will remain autonomous. Take care!

@dorislai2130 there is a lot of confusion of what happened on June 4th...ask Chinese people and they will share with you how many military officers and police were killed that day, ask Western governments and they will tell you it was a brutal attack on innocent students. 30+ years later I guess we will never know the entire truth of the situation (I personally believe somewhere in the middle is the truth) but I believe the Chinese government has changed tremendously in these 30 years. They've given Chinese people more freedoms, allowing them to invest in stock market, travel abroad, invest abroad, live abroad, etc...while transforming their economy and lifting 700 million people out of poverty. They are not perfect, no government is, and I also don't argee with the HK protests fueling the racism problem in America. Racism has been part of America's history since day one, and it will be for a long time. You have every right to be proud to call yourself Chinese. HK is an amazing city, and an important part of China. I just want the best for HK and I believe that the future of HK's success depends on a healthy relationship with China. So both sides need to work on a peaceful resolution.

@tubbytuber @tubbytuber no you are missing the point again. I'm not advocating that people in America need to give up their freedom. My point is that I believe in Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. Freedom of speech doesn't mean much if you don't have the most basic things in life. Show me a single mom in rural America with multiple kids starving to put food on the table. What's most important thing in her life? Food, shelter, opportunity for job. People argue....she is American! She is rich! She has freedom....I'm pretty sure the right to protest doesn't mean much to her if she can't feed her kids. If you actually traveled to China and spoke to Chinese people you would realize their is a tremendous amount of freedom in China today. Most Chinese people feel very free. They don't feel they live in a repressed society. There are many avenues from them to criticize the government, and many times the government listens to citizens and makes significant change as a result. Again from your perspective you think your freedom as an American to protest in the streets, own a gun, say whatever you want publicly about your US president is something worth dying for. In China these things are not valued. Why do Chinese need to protest when the country is united and moving forward in a unified direction? Why do you need to own a gun if there is tremendous amount of safety everywhere in the country? Why do people want to smear the name of the president when the economic growth of the country continues to improve. It's a cultural difference. Every country in Asia teaches it's citizens to respect their leaders. Like I've metioned in my recent video. China has changed tremendously over the past 50 years....Chinese citizens have seen an explosion of personal freedoms as a result. Chinese citizens can start businesses, be creative, express themselves, all of these wonderful things that you described earlier. Honestly please travel to China first and experience it for yourself before you write off China and think....they don't have the same freedoms as Americans, the people there are suffering. I just can't advocate this enough. The biggest problems between China and US comes down to cultural differences. But please go to China and talk with Chinese people, I guarantee your perception of freedom in China will change tremendously. Appreciate the chat, I will continue to do my best to help more people realize these cultural differences. America is an amazing country, I love it and am a proud American, but I most definitely realize we can not expect to copy and paste our systems and way of life to a country as diverse as China. Honestly I'm in Canada now, and Canadians wouldn't be able to accept the same way of life as Americans. Cultures are different. Take care

@ghostliu1767 so CGTN split the video into 2 different videos...you can search it on YouTube and find that, this is why they refer to 2 videos. The reason I requested to be paid in RMB is simple, #1 it's way easier for Chinese companies to pay in local currency. I have a Chinese bank account and run a digital marketing company. We have team members based in Shanghai and I pay them in RMB, so I always take RMB for payments. I do this with sponsored posts and advertisements as well. The reason it was 30 days later is because we were signing a detailed licensing contract. You know what it's like doing business in China, back and forth emails, singing contracts, this person needs to authorize, then a holiday etc....once I gave them the email consent they went ahead and posted the videos on their UT channel. But processing payments from big companies takes a long time, 30-60 day processing times is not unusual. So I had plenty of time to rethink and ultimately decline the payment. It looks messy, I totally agree with that. But the reality is I have never been paid by CGTN. Hope that clarifies, I know some people won't believe and that's fine. It is what it is

Hello Thomas, thanks for the comments, I love those verses Matthew 7:1-3 and couldn't think of a more appropriate analogy between the US and China. I mean let's be honest. The US has a tremendous amount of problems (as does China) and this is what I have been advocating for years, why are we judging the speck in other peoples (or countries) eyes and not focusing on what is coming out of our own eye (or country). China does this, they focus on their domestic problems, and literally could care less what America does domestically. Yes, I definitely don't approve of Pelosi opening a hair salon to get her hair done, yes I definitely think Biden and Kamala could have done more as well. If it was Obama, absolutely I would call them out on the same thing. The thing that frustrates me the most with Ted Cruz is his integrity! He lied to the public, he said he was just going to drop of his kids, but his flight records showed that he changed his ticket. When caught at the airport, again another lie. Again, you are a public figure whose job is to serve the people. Was it the best decision for his family? Sure, and it proves that sometimes fleeing borders to other countries is the best thing for your family.
Also let me reply to your first point: First of all we are not CHINA! .....thank you for saying this! I couldn't agree more, and CHINA is NOT America....why is there a double standard? America has the right to judge China and force China to be like America? Why? Who made America the boss of the world? I love America, but I want my government officials to focus on America. I guess I'm selfish, but that's what I want our government to do for us. American government has become obsessed with trying to change China, and that just isn't going to happen. There are too many cultural differences.
Secondly, did you really feel you were going to be arrested in China if you jaywalked? I find that hard to believe, were there police officers on every sidewalk? Did Chinese people treat you bad? Are you normally paranoid when traveling to another country? Just seems a little odd that you literally thought you were going to be arrested at any moment in China. But maybe just a little nervous traveling to China, I hope you kept an open mind and let yourself experience the country for what it's worth.

@dalewier9735 Hey Dale! Thanks for the comment...sorry for any confusion on the pricing/size of the green. The 10'x30' is just the size of the green, not including the rough area and two chippings bays (2 small round circles to hit chips from)...all in this was around $13,500 CAD. That's why I mentioned the 10k figure before. I'm sorry to hear about your back injury, but the day after your best round? wow, at least you have that great score to remember. To be honest the putting green has translated to great results on the real golf course as well. I mainly use it to practice putts within 10ft of the hole, so it really increased my make % from this distance, which of course leads to lower scores. Yes, you can add sand, compact it, and increase speed to make it faster. I would say it's one of the best investments we've made. Our kids love to run around on it. Our backyard looks amazing every day and saves me maintenance time, and it will last for 15 years. I have no regrets on this purchase!

My honest opinion is that America's response has been good for America, since our culture is completely different. In March 2020 I would most definitely answer "yes" to your question regardless of where I lived, US or China. However in Dec 2021 if I am in America I would say "no", it's time to move on because 1) it's impossible for America to lock down again 2) vaccines are everywhere in America, I know people who have had 8 doses, if you want them, get them, if you don't then don't have them. I'm in Orlando, Florida right now for Christmas and things are BOOMING....tourists everywhere, theme parks packed, restaurants packed, everyone is enjoying their time. I know this would never work in China but I am a big advocator of understanding the cultural differences between countries

It's important to understand the future of Taiwan rests in the hands of the US...if the US continues to provoke China over Taiwan, China will move, if US actually adheres to the One China policy that has guided the US China relationship for 50+ years, then there is ZERO CHANCE China will make a move on Taiwan, and here is why. China CAN'T AFFORD IT. For 50+ years China has been building its economy and lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty. If China invades Taiwan, they are screwed economically and there is 50 years of progress erased. China depends on Taiwanese chips just like we all do, honestly I don't see China invading Taiwan. We just can't have this crazy right wing US politicians move us away from One China policy and declare Taiwan independent. I've spent a lot of time in Taiwan, vast majority do not want independence, nor do they want to be unified, they want what has worked for last 70 years, strategic ambiguity and a policy that allows all parties to win, keep that and we keep the peace in the Taiwan strait

Great story! However I don't feel the story accurately describes China the way you intended it to. Chinese can travel the world, they can pursue education abroad, they can make investments in foreign countries, they would have nearly all the advantages of Family A. Family B in your story sounds more like North Korea to me. A country that many people often mistake for being similar to China. If we were talking about North Korea, I would be of a very different opinion.
However we are talking about China, and the reality is that Family A (Hong Kong) are now actually jealous of what China has achieved. Instead of looking inwards and wanting to improve themselves, some (not all) Family A members started attacking Mainland Chinese. There is a tremendous amount of racism and bigotry involved in these protests, why else would protesters be buring businesses that have any connections to Mainland, despite the fact that are in Hong Kong and serve Hong Kong people?
China has proven to the world their form of government is different, but effective in eradicating poverty, improving the lives of its citizens, and becoming a dominant player in the global economy, and HK is part of that rise, and a great city within China. I love HK and only want to see it prosper. 😄

Thank you Lennon for the comment! I'll quickly address some of those questions, and I am planning on making more videos talking about these points, so stay tuned....
Freedom of Speech in China....Chinese citizens are very active on Chinese social media networks, criticizing, and giving feedback to the government, the government often reviews what is trending online and adapts to the society. The CPC has changed tremendously over the years, it is not an organization set in its ways instead it is constantly evolving. Freedom of religion....Christianity is the fastest growing religion in China now, Muslims all over China can practice their religion....you don't have the freedom to say stand on the side of the street and pass out Bible tracks and evangelize in China, but China does allow religion to be practiced.
Xinjiang and Uyghur situation is complex ( I will make a video about this) but there is extreme terrorism in the province from religious radicals....China is not attacking the religion but is tackling the problem of extreme violence within this religion...it has worked in the last 3 years, there has been zero terrorist attacks in the region (will discuss in more detail in video).
China is complex, but as Westerners we must see both perspectives, the outside view and Chinese view to properly assess the situation, more to come my friend!

I would disagree for one major reason Paul, don't forget the Chinese youth of today are much more international and curious about the outside world, they are learning English, listening to American songs, wearing nike shoes, drinking starbucks, watching Big Bang Theory....while sure older Chinese live in a China bubble, they still no something about America and are at least curious enough to ask questions and learn, on the flip side, hardly any Americans could care less about the outside world, most Americans don't know anything about Canada our closest country and one we share a 4k mile border with, it's a huge difference IMO

@tubbytuber I apologize for any misunderstandings, and was a little heated that day I responded...let me try and clarify. Freedom of speech is of course important but I believe there is an illusion of free speech in the West. For example, Donald Trump banned for life from almost every social media platform in America. Is that freedom of speech? Look at the cancel culture that is exponentially growing over time in Western culture. People have to watch what they say at all times because of what society's perception will say about them. Take for example myself. I say something positive about China. People attack me...you're American, you can't support China. China is the enemy. You must be paid for by the CCP! This is the result of our society that has become so polarized and political. Look at Twitter censoring the cries of Indians crying out in protest against the government for the handling of Covid, is that free speech? I'll clarify my statement. Free Speech is important, but America has used "Free Speech" and "Human Rights" as political weapons against other countries for many years. My point with that earlier example was someone challenged me to a thought experiment online. He said in China there are many rich people, but all of them are slaves. They have no free speech. Meanwhile in America you have free speech, therefore even if you are dirt poor. You are richer than anyone in China! I'm sorry but I don't agree. Take a poor man in America and show him how a rich man lives in China, they would switch spots in a heartbeat. I truly believe that, because again, the most basic elements in life must be met first. Being able to say whatever you want (which we both know isn't true, just look at the examples I gave) isn't going to improve your life. Take it back to China....ask a poor Chinese person, would you like to live under a political system like America's and have "Free Speech", or would you like to have a pathway for better education, a career, and an ability to earn a decent income. I'm sure they would choose the latter. China has elements of free speech in its society. Is is as open as the US? Of course not, can Chinese citizens criticize their government, absolutely they can. Spend time on Weibo and you can see it first hand all the time. Spend time in local villages and you can see protests against local government officials. In my recent video, I mentioned the changes in China....13 new laws all passed on March 1st, due to public outcry for change and reform. This is an example of free speech in China. China's top social media creator in 2020 a law professor who exposes loopholes in the China legal system and asks for change. Is that free speech? I certainly think it is. My point is China is not how the West makes it appear, is it perfect? Does it need further change, of course, and it will change, as every year more and more new policies come to China. My point with this discussion is to hopefully show you that there are many elements of free speech and human rights that do exist in China. I hope this makes more sense, and I do appreciate the respectful conversation that we've had. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with my opinion, and am happy to engage with anyone in a respectful conversation, so I thank you for that. Take care ~ Cyrus

I understand the point that you made, but I am not advocating that China needs to completely adapt to Western values, if you watch my videos, I'm very clear that I believe every country needs to have a system that works for them. However my point is there are many things that are accepted in Western society (the freedom to travel, invest overseas, invest domestically, own a business, go to college, etc...) that have also become accepted in China. This is a great thing, that many Westerners are not talking about. Americans for example argue.....one man, one vote! Everyone in China should vote for their president, but this isn't important in China, or is it necessary, or is it wanted in China! I'm not judging China on Western values, I'm simply showcasing they have adapted many as the country continues to change every year

Constructive dialogue between us Thomas, I'm happy to answer any questions about China and share my thoughts. Yes, we agree that each person of every country should want their respective to be first. That makes total sense to me. The thing I struggle with Western countries is that China is never allowed to do it their way, China is always compared to Western values. For example, no democracy in China = problem. If you look at China from Western perspective of course it will not meet your standards! We need to look at China from the Chinese perspective, which of course is very difficult for outsiders or non-Chinese to do.
I'm glad you had a good time and found the people to be extremely nice and helpful. This is exactly what I lived for 10 years in China. Also I have to ask, how is it odd that a Chinese police officer has a gun attached to their belt? Literally every single police officer in America, at least the ones I have seen, has a gun on their belt. Is this not standard for most police officers around the world?
Love your last statement:
We are a world of different cultures and that’s what makes our planet something special. How boring would it be if we were all the same.
Completely agree! This is why I advocate learning to work together and respecting cultures.....America will never be China, and China will never be America, the sooner we can embrace that, the sooner we can learn to work together
