Of course, lands were ceded to the aggressors.   Showing weakness had never worked in the history, it only made the invaders bolder and more aggressive. Eventually, these two dynasties had very bad ending and their people suffered the consequences. For a weak nation to survive, the only way is to fight the enemies, which is what Afghans did. Korean, Sino-Vietnam, Sino-Indian wars serve as a reminder to those western politicians who think Chinese communist government is weak. Naive, if you think the PLA is not prepared to sink American aircraft fleets. Be prepared to fight your enemies, no matter how strong they are. This is what Chinese and Afghans can share with weaker countries across the world. Ha ha ha!

  3. If you're a Buddha you'll see everyone as Buddha. If you're a Jesus Christ you'll see everyone as sheep. White civilisations are not advanced enough to understand the Chinese. Since the beginning of history, all western civilisations have been ruled top-down by the autocratic top 1% (God). This has been their way to deal with civilisations that are different from them, which usually resulted in domination by the use of force. The God's game of good versus evil is a primitive game westerners will never get tired of playing. Democracy, freedom, free speech and press etc are just tools for suppressed westerners to challenge their God. Chinese civilisation is 2500 years ahead go the West.   Good if you can understand what I say here; if you can't catch the ball, then make sure you keep your wheel of evolution turning. Ha ha ha!
