@maessof91 now they can enjoy the fruits of their choices. Lol

@amensentis the South Korea military is well regarded.

That line has never been true. Lol

It's clear that the people of Afghanistan weren't to interested in modern society. Now they can resume killing people for listening to music and wearing to wrong thing. Yay?

I wonder if Pakistan has nurtured something which will become a very well armed monster. They are already fighting the Pakistani Taliban. They might find themselves with a big problem on their hands.
2
@marcobonesi6794 given Pakistans role in helping the Taliban come to power, survive the war and retake power, the consequences of that showing up on their doorstep might be karma.

Like who? The Achaemenid empire fell because of Alexander, Alexander's fell due to succession issues, same with the Mongols, the British fell spending all their blood and treasure fighting the Germans twice, the Soviets fell because of their economy and the US is still standing.

Haha. Imagine thinking China's foreign policy isn't imperialist.

If English isn't your first language, in this case "collapse" refers to the then state of Afghanistan.

Did you miss the part of the video where he talked about the Trump peace deal?
1
I doubt Russia would be interested. Lol

South Korea comes to mind. Japan, Germany, Italy.

@MercenaryBlackWaterz there have been successful invasions and occupations of Afghanistan. The graveyard of empires is overblown. It didn't cause the falls that some people seem to think.
1
@kko5779 extremist groups in power lead to poor outcomes for the population.

I don't think we need to worry about the word Afghan and the word economy being next to each other anytime soon.
1
@artcorbeau oh I don't really care what they do, doesn't effect my life. It's just that I'll take any stories of suffering from that country with a grain of salt in future. I felt sympathy before 2001, now I'll know it's what they want.
1
Seems like things have reached the logical conclusion.
1
@5777Whatup Pakistan now has a fully equipped Taliban on their border and a local Taliban group in their country. They might be stuck fighting the monster they nurtured soon.
1
The US couldn't stay there forever. 20 years is more than enough time. If they couldn't set up a working state by then, it wasn't going to happen.
1
I'm sure the girls of Afghanistan will be happy to be liberated from school and getting to determine their own futures.
1
Filthy colonial traitors!
1
Much like Afghans wanting to live in the middle ages, many in the US genuinely believe that stuff.
