You’re talking about a system that can bring an object about 10 feet long and weighing something like 3200lbs and which, even though encased in a solid brass cartridge, holds 660 POUNDS OF CORDITE, up 30’ of hoist tube, and then rotate and move the entire mass from the near-vertical “lifting orientation” to the almost-horizontal “loading tray orientation.” The turret would have to be 15 feet taller to accommodate all the gyrations of what is, let’s face it, a 2008 Honda Accord with a trunk packed full of explosives.
