  2. ***** unless you have instant run off voting your vote is a spoiler. Third parties split the vote. The more parties the more the vote splits. 3 parties means the winner needs at least 40% to win. 4 Parties  at least 30%. You see the majority needed goes below 51%. That only strengthens the two party illusion not weakens it.

  3. youngbuck189 You need to make it so the third parties can compete with the two party illusion. Instant Run off voting will take away the spoiler effect. With instant run off voting you vote has more power.  You can vote for both a third party and either the democrat or the republican so if your first choice doesn't have enough votes to win then your vote goes to either the democrat or the republican. That way one doesn't lose because of the spoiler effect. Think about it mathematically.
