@TheJlee28 In the 80s, 90s and early 2000s was when Toronto was at its best. Much less violence and crime and the city was much more affordable and small businesses were thriving and you had a ton of mom and pop shops and even arcades in the downtown that made it fun to visit often. The clubbing and live music scene was great and Chinatown was booming. Now much of that character and uniqueness is gone and its replaced by generic big box stores and neverending condo buildings so that investors can pour more money into buying up more of our city.

@KKHYECR No it’s not. Shootings are down 50% and homicides 30% from this time last year. For a city of our size crime is nothing compared to those in the states Shootings are down after 6 CONSECUTIVE YEARS of record high shootings per year including an historic high of 495 shootings in 2019. Also no one wants to mention that's there hundreds of stabbing happening in the city and that the kind of brazen shootings that we're seeing in broad daylight in busy parts of the city around tons of people is has also increased in recent years. Also violent carjackings are also dramatically up and so is random violence. Remember when people use to say 'Well if you're not involved in gangs and crime then you're at low risk of becoming a victim?' Well this is no longer true. And finally we didn't even mention the fact that places surrounding the GTA like Pickering, Oshawa, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton etc. are also seeing large increases in violent crime because surprise surprise people move around and now that crime and violence that was largely happening in the GTA has spread further beyond into cities that were previously very peaceful and safe.
