The thing is if you get the police to be more active in that area all of a sudden you'll have a certain demographic of people saying that they're being 'unfairly profiled and targeted' and 'overpoliced'. These are the same people who cheered when they were able to get police resource officers out of Toronto highschools because a demographic of students felt 'uncomfortable and profiled' with officers patrolling the hallways and trying to connect and interact with students. As a result violence, stabbing and shootings in and around certain problem highschools have gone up and now students and staff are complaining about the lack of safety at some schools.
