@Rkocheckers I vaguely know of her songs because of randomly listening to them on TV, but she's a poor copy of all the singing legends that I grew up with in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Back then you had to have actual singing talent as well as presence to make it big. Now its all about the performance and how big a spectacle you can put on and singing talent really doesn't matter all that much for many if not most 'singing artists'. Just throw together some catchy toons in the studio and lip sync when you're on stage and you're good to go. There are thousands of singers much more talented than someone like Swift, but few have gotten the opportunity that she did and/or they don't have the marketability or presence that Taylor does.

Still don't know why Taylor has such a massive following above almost every other singer out there right now. What's so special about her other than she's attractive? Her music isn't anything amazing other than some songs having a few catchy toons.

@jmarc0014 People can like Taylor all they want, but it certainly isn't because of her singing talent. She's fortunate to be attractive and marketable more than anything else. These days actual talent takes a backseat to being able to connect with people, gaining popularity and putting on a good show. So much music these days is just throwaway crap that most people won't remember in 20-30 years from now. Compare that to why people still remember and constantly listen to music from 20+ years ago because it was actually distinct and memorable and iconic. The majority of singers these days will never be able to produce what the legends from the past produced outside of a few exceptions and Taylor certainly isn't one of them.
