Poverty makes for violence. That is why many don't want South America and North America united into one trade and government. South America is a different culture, etc. because of their majority religion.

Sorry that happened to you. I have always met some nice people from Minnesota. I grew up in a small town of 500. It had a centralized school with good teachers and an active community around it from prosperous farmers in NYS. 80% of my small class of 25 went onto higher learning of some type after high school. We had a movie theater and a shopping area in the main part of town. We were an hour or so from two large cities both north of us. We had no police but the state police who drove threw the area. Very little crime. Both the central school and the town had a small library. We had a very active sports program for both girls and boys. I loved that since in a larger city all I did was exercise, march and dance a bit.
